Here’s how you would use WordPress to create and manage content for your website.

Step 1: Log in to the Dashboard

  • Access the admin panel by 
  • Enter your username and password.
  • Once logged in, you’ll see the WordPress Dashboard—your control center.

Step 2: Create or Edit a Page/Post

Create a New Page:

  1. Navigate to Pages > Add New.
  2. Enter a title for your page, like “About Us.”
  3. Use the Block Editor (Gutenberg) to add and format content:
    • Add a Text Block for your content.
    • Drag and drop Image Blocks to insert pictures.
    • Embed videos, links, or social media feeds using blocks.

Create a Blog Post:

  1. Navigate to Posts > Add New.
  2. Write the title and content of your post using the same editor.
  3. Add Categories and Tags to organize your post.

Step 3: Customize Your Website Design

  • Go to Appearance > Themes:
    • Choose a pre-built theme or upload a custom one.
    • Activate the theme to instantly apply its design to your site.
  • Customize your theme under Appearance > Customize:
    • Edit colors, fonts, and layouts.
    • Add a logo or site title.

Step 4: Add Media

  1. Go to Media > Add New.
  2. Drag and drop files (images, PDFs, videos) into the Media Library.
  3. Insert these files into pages or posts by selecting them from the library.

Step 5: Add Plugins

  • Go to Plugins > Add New:
    • Search for plugins like Yoast SEO (for search engine optimization) or Elementor (a drag-and-drop page builder).
    • Click Install and then Activate to enable the plugin.

Step 6: Preview and Publish

  • While editing a page or post, click Preview to see how it looks live.
  • When ready, click Publish to make it live on your website.

Step 7: Manage Your Website

  • Use the Dashboard to:
    • View Analytics: Install a plugin like Google Site Kit to track visits.
    • Manage Comments: Approve or delete comments on your blog.
    • Update your site: WordPress will notify you of updates for plugins, themes, or WordPress itself.
